I-9 Employment Verification

I provide in-person document review and completion of Form I-9, Section 2, as an employer’s authorized representative. Whether you’re an employer coordinating a new hire or an employee arranging your own appointment, I’m here to help make the process straightforward.

I coordinate with you or your HR team and work with paper forms or employer-provided electronic platforms, including WorkBright and i9 Everywhere. Clear communication and a completion update help keep onboarding on track.

How it works

  1. Coordinate the visit

We review the employer’s authorization, instructions and deadline, then confirm the appointment location, time and fee.

  2. Meet in person

I examine the acceptable documents the employee chooses to present, following the Form I-9 requirements.

  3. Complete the employer’s process

I complete the required information and sign as your employer’s authorized representative. If your employer uses an electronic I-9 platform, I follow the instructions in the provided link, upload document images when required, and sign electronically.

Preparing for the appointment

For employers and HR teams

Please provide authorization, your completion instructions, an HR contact and the required deadline. If you use an electronic I-9 system, include the representative link or access instructions.

We’ll confirm that I can complete your company’s process before scheduling. Your organization retains responsibility for I-9 compliance, records and any E-Verify requirements.

For new hires

Your employer can coordinate the visit, or you’re welcome to contact me directly with their instructions. Complete Section 1 before we meet and bring the acceptable documents you choose to present.

What we’ll need

  • Employer authorization and an HR contact.
  • Employer link or paper Form I-9, with completion instructions.
  • First day of work and completion deadline.
  • Section 1 completed by the employee.
  • The employee’s chosen acceptable documents.
  • Appointment location and return instructions.

Which documents should employees bring?

Review the official Form I-9 document lists ↗

Employees choose from the official acceptable document lists: a List A option, or a List B document together with a List C document. A particular document, such as a passport, is not required when another acceptable option meets the rules.

Bring original acceptable documentation. Certain certified copies, receipts and extensions have specific rules. Your HR team can help resolve document questions before the appointment.

Frequently asked questions

Can Form I-9 Section 2 be completed online or by video?

An electronic I-9 platform lets me enter information and sign electronically, but this service includes an in-person document review. Video document examination is a separate DHS alternative procedure for qualifying E-Verify employers. An electronic link alone does not make an appointment a video verification.
